The first Tech Awards Ceremony
01.06, 21:15–21:35 (Europe/Berlin), ZKM Medientheater
Sprache: English

Other industries have their (somewhat pretentious) awards ceremonies, but tech (probably) does not. Let us change that and give away awards for stuff like the best bug turned into a feature, the coolest upcoming open source project, most employees laid off despite a really profitable year, the most interesting timezone handling bug and more.

The first Tech Awards Ceremony will be a must-see event for anyone within tech.
Awards will be a mix of sincere appreciation of cool things, friendly fun, and criticism of capitalist companies that make tech a much more difficult space to be in than it should be.

If the event is popular, I hope to make it an annual thing, but let's see how the first one will work out before deciding anything about that.

Content Notes

Layoffs, bad working conditions

Frontend, full-stack (don't often hear it in that order, do you?) and app developer who likes poking at Kubernetes and tech in general.
I also enjoy putting emoji in places they don't belong 👻

I am so used to writing markdown that I put two spaces in the end of lines when writing emails, even though I only ever write plain text mail, and definitely not markdown.
Is that relevant to my talks? Nope, but I am terrible at describing myself and thought a fun fact might be good in a bio.
