Bagels sind Brötchen mit Loch oder Bretzeln mit weniger Löchern und eine wundervolle Backware. Ob mit Frischkäse oder Hummus belegt: es gibt wohl kaum etwas Besseres als einen frischen Bagel. Dabei hat der Bagel auch eine bewegte Geschichte, von der syrischen Levante über Polen bis in die jüdische Diaspora in New York und Montréal.
In diesem Vortrag widme ich mich also den wichtigen Fragen unserer Zeit: Wo kommt der Bagel her? Wo bekommt man die besten Bagel (Krakau, New York oder Montreal) und wie unterscheiden sie sich? Und natürlich lernt ihr, wie man Bagel backt und worauf ihr dabei achten solltet.
Kommt vorbei und lernt mehr, als ihr jemals wissen wolltet. Mit etwas Glück könnt ihr nebenbei sogar einen frischen Bagel essen.
Johannes Bechberger is a JVM developer working on profilers and their underlying technology in the SapMachine team at SAP. This includes improvements to async-profiler and its ecosystem, a website to view the different JFR event types, and improvements to the FirefoxProfiler, making it usable in the Java world. His work today comprises many open-source contributions and his blog, where he regularly writes on in-depth profiling and debugging topics. He also works on hello-ebpf, the first eBPF library for Java. His most recent contribution is the new CPU Time Profiler in JDK 25.
